An immersive audio guide from Arts Inc Heretaunga that gets you up close and personal with the artists behind some of Heretaunga's most iconic public artworks. Walk as though in-conversation with each artist, and choose how deep in conversation you want to get.

Created to provide a new way to connect with public artwork and the artistic community of Heretaunga, Walking with Artists was created by PickPath in collaboration with Arts Inc, local artists and walking guide John Eaden. It is available to experience for free on the PickPath app for local community and visitors alike.

GENEVA AM

Miki Rapu Waiata

Site-specific Listening Mixtape

Crafted by independent musician Geneva AM, this is a site-specific mixtape journey made to celebrate the launch of her latest single Pikipiki.

The audience is invited to explore the Auckland Domain's Wintergardens alongside Geneva AM, seeking out the sounds and music of collaborators that have been 'hidden' in this physical space.

Miki Rapu Waiata was conceived of, designed and built independently on the PickPath platform by Geneva AM. Geneva was motivated to find a new way to share her music which would be suitable for a broader base of fans, taking place outdoors, at any time during the day.

AUCKLAND WRITERS FESTIVAL

Pipi & Pou and the Forgotten Stream

Family Walking Adventure

Something magical is lurking beneath the streets of Auckland... Pipi & Pou and the Forgotten Stream is a read-aloud, walking adventure for 4-10 year olds and their adults, written by the awardwinnning author of the Pipi & Pou series, Tim Tipene.

In this journey, the audience is led down the route of the once-daylit Waihorotiu stream where a taniwha lurks below. Guided by the compass feature, our audience are invited to carry out activities and clues to help solve a mystery along the way.

The PickPath team worked in collaboration with Tim Tipene and the Auckland Writers Festival to activate Auckland's CBD and bring this playful tale to life. Featuring illustrations by Isobel Te Aho-White, and with support from Heart of the City.

AUCKLAND PRIDE

Te Wai Aronui

Self-guided Audio Walk

In this audio-based experience, Auckland Pride worked with kaupapa Māori community group Whakamana to create an experience which explored the layered histories and queer narratives of Rangipuke (Albert Park).

Audiences choose between two paths to explore the park - to flow with the contours of Te Wai Ariki (water springs), or to weave in amongst the landmarks that reflect a complex colonial imagination, featuring waiata, poetry and storytelling.

Initially conceived of as a project to record and share oral histories in a sustainable way, Te Ara Aronui pushed well beyond this to become a collective creative project which can be built on in festivals to come.

Audience Guidance Aid

U R Back is Barbarian Production's radical, wondrous outdoor event based in a golf course and public park. Part show, part game, part walk-in-the-park, in U R Back audience members could roam freely in an open-world adventure of weirdness and wonder.

Barbarian utilised PickPath to provide a tool for audience members who wanted a more guided pathway through the show, which also unlocked hidden “easter eggs” and special content.

Barbarian seamlessly wrapped the creation of the PickPath pathway into their creative process, with a team member dedicated to developing this content and building the PickPath alongside the creation of the show.

Call/Waiting is an interactive experience that invites you, the participant, to dial into a curious series of voicemails while you weave your way through the gallery. It's part pick-a-path novel, part audio tour from artist duo O&P Works.

"What we've done through PickPath is the best version of what we've been trying to achieve through wānanga, podcasts and other activations."
Hāmiora Bailey
Director of Auckland Pride
